Tag 540 - „La midad del mundo“ - the middle of the world
After two and a half months in Colombia we had to tear ourselves away from this wonderful country to move on to Ecuador. We’ve spend a couple of chilled out days in the popular „Finca Sommerwind“ not far from the border and got some work done.
And today we’re just little ways north of the capital Quito where we reached another milestone of this journey. After one week short of 18 months on the road and almost exactly 50.000 kilometres ridden we crossed the equator today. And to celebrate this in style we met up with our friends Ingo (traveling-east), Ulli and Stephan (Kradwanderer) who have been roaming the country for a while already, for a photo-shooting at the equator monument.

Tag 540 - „La midad del mundo“ - die Mitte der Erde
Nach zwei einhalb Monaten haben wir uns nun vom wunderbaren Kolumbien losgerissen und sind seit ein paar Tagen in Ecuador. Nach einem kurzen Zwischenstopp in der beliebten „Finca Sommerwind“ nicht weit hinter der Grenze stehen wir nun kurz vor der Hauptstadt Quito und haben einen weiteren Meilenstein unserer Reise erreicht.
Nach knapp 18 Monaten unterwegs und ziemlich genau 50.000 gefahrenen Kilometern haben wir heute den Äquator überquert. Und um das gebührend zu feiern haben wir uns am Äquator-Denkmal mit unseren Freunden Ingo (traveling-east), Ulli und Stephan (Kradwanderer) die schon seit einer Weile in Ecuador rumtingeln zu einem Foto-Shooting getroffen.
