Day 443 - Quick stop to cool off
When we first fixed our travel dates for crossing from Panama to Colombia back in May, we felt that we still had lots and lots of time to spend in Central America. And all of a sudden it’s July and we can’t even spare one day to spend in El Valle even though it is really nice. The small town sits inside of an old crater, has a similarly pleasant climate to Boquete and offers beautiful nature. But even for that one evening we spent there it was totally worth it. After 5 hours of riding in 39 degrees on the Panamerican Highway, which is a huge construction site at the moment, we desperately needed to recuperate. Apart from that it was also nice to end the day on a small twisty mountain road and start the next day with exactly the same.

Tag 443 - Kurzer Stopp zum Abkühlen
Als wir im Mai das Datum für unseren Grenzübertritt von Panama nach Kolumbien festgemacht haben, hatten wir das Gefühl noch Ewigkeiten Zeit zu haben für den Rest von Zentralamerika. Und nun ist Ruck zuck Anfang Juli und wir haben nicht mal mehr Zeit einen Tag in El Valle zu bleiben. Dabei ist es hier so schön. Das Örtchen liegt in einem alten Vulkankrater und hat genau wie Boquete ein tolles Klima und schöne Natur zu bieten. Aber auch für nur einen Abend hat es sich gelohnt hier her zu kommen. Denn nach 5 Stunden bei 39 Grad auf der sich im Bau befindlichen Panamerikanischa brauchen wir dringest eine Abkühlung. Und außerdem konnten wir so unseren Tag mit einer schönen kleinen kurvigen Bergstrasse beenden und den morgigen genau so wieder beginnen.
