Day 108 - Northern British Columbia
I always get very excited whe I see wild animals in their natural habitat. The past 2 days habe been very exciting for me. And maybe slightly disturbing for Dan, since I always scream over the intercom “bear, bear, bear!” or “mooooooooose!” or whatever it is that I saw. While riding hundreds of miles through the stunning nature of northern BC, on a very nice highway I had lots of time for wildlife spotting. On highway 37 we saw a total of 4 black bears hanging out next to the road. Though when they saw us they didn’t stick around for too long. And I even saw a cougar. Just a short glimpse of a gigantic cat magestically standing on a small hill by the edge of the woods. Unfortunately it didn’t wait for me to stop and get the camera out. Other than that we encountered a moose family, moose drinking in the lake and lots of squirrels, lemmings and mice.

Tag 108 - Der Norden von British Columbia
Ich bin immer ganz aufgeregt, wenn ich wilde Tier in ihrer natürlichen Umgebung sehe. Die letzten beiden Tage waren daher ziemlich aufregend. Und für Daniel vielleicht ein kleines bisschen nervenaufreibend, weil ich jedes Mal über die Interkom gebrüllt hab “Bär, Bär, Bär!” oder “Eeeeeeeelch” oder was ich eben gerade gesehn hab. Während wir hunderte von Kilometern durch die wunderbare kanadische Landschaft auf wunderbaren kanadischen Highways rollten, hatte ich ne Menge Zeit um nach Tieren Ausschau zu halten. Auf dem Highway 37 haben wir insgesamt 4 Schwarzbären gesehen, die sich allerdings jedesmal ziemlich schnell zurückgezogen haben. Und ich hab sogar einen Puma gesehen. Es war nur ein ganz kurzer Blick auf diese gigantische Katze, die da majestätisch auf einem Hügel am Waldrand stand. Leider hat sie nicht gewartet, bis ich angehalten hab und die Kamera rausgeholt hatte. Darüberhinaus haben wir noch eine Elchfamilie, trinkende Elche im See und massig Eichhörnchen. Lemminge und Mäuse angetroffen.
