Day 715-722 - A couple of last stopovers…
Since the bike are not going directly to Cape Town, we aren’t either. The shipping takes a whole two months! Apparenty there are no direct connections between South America and South Africa so our bikes have to go to Europe first to be loaded onto a ship headed for Africa. We’re not too sad about that fact because it gives us time to make a couple of last stopovers.
First we pay Montevideo the capital of Uruguay a short visit where Daniel reconnects with Matias, one of the Urugaian father-son-trio he met back in Pakistan. The three of them were traveling around the world in a tiny Citroën 2CV. Unfortunatelly Ismael, the other brother and papa were out of town.
From Montevideo we borded the first plane that took us to Sao Paulo in Brasil, also to meet up with old friends. Daniel met Bruna during the time he worked in London and they stayed in touch ever since. Bruna and her husband Ricardo invited us to stay with them and the four of us had a blast exploring the city, at a costume party and relaxing at the beach.

Tag 715-722 - Ein paar letzte Zwischenstopps…
Da die Motorräder nicht direkt nach Kapstadt fahren, werden wir das auch nicht tun. Die Verschiffung dauert ganze zwei Monate! Anscheinend gibt es keine direkten Verbindungen zwischen Südamerika und Südafrika und so müssen die Bikes nun erstmal nach Europa um dort auf ein Schiff nach Afrika verladen zu werden. Wir sind über diese lange Transportzeit aber nicht allzu traurig, denn so können wir noch einige Zwischenstopps einlegen.
Als erstes statten wir Montevideo einen kurzen Besuch ab, wo Daniel Matias wieder trifft, einer des Urugayanischen Vater-Sohn-Trios die er damals in Pakistan kennengelernt hatte. Die drei waren in einem winzigen Citroën 2CV unterwegs um die Welt. Leider sind Ismael, der zweite Bruder und der Papa nicht in der Stadt gewesen.
In Montevideo sind wir ins erste Flugzeug gestiegen das uns nach Sao Paulo in Brasilien gebracht hat. Auch hier gab es alte Freunde wieder zu treffen. Daniel und Bruna haben sich kennengelernt als er in London arbeitete und sind seit dem in Kontakt geblieben. Bruna und ihr Mann Ricardo leben nun wieder in Brasilien, haben uns zu sich eingeladen und für ne gute Zeit gesorgt. Von der Kostümparty bis zum Strandausflug war alles dabei.
